

We are seeking a Welder II to join our team on a temp-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have intermediate to advanced welding skills and a strong understanding of fabrication and welding processes. You will be responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling parts while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities

Welding and Fabrication:
-
Complete welding tasks assigned by the supervisor or lead welder in a timely manner.

Fabricate or prepare parts by grinding, cutting, drilling, tacking, or welding as needed.

Fit-up sub-assembly parts and weld them out within the standard time frame.

Produce clean welds that require minimal grinding or buffing.
-
Follow instructions from supervisors regarding project changes or job duties.
-
Maintain a clean work area and return tools to their proper storage after use.

Accurately complete timecards and job assignments.
-
Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or lead welder.

Quality Control and Inspection:

Ensure welds are visually acceptable and require minimal post-welding cleaning.

Demonstrate advanced-level fit-up abilities, as evaluated by supervisor or QC.

Maintain a record of no weld leaks for 90 consecutive days.

Qualifications & Requirements

Welding Skills & Certifications:
-
Must have passed the 1G MIG weld test.
-
Must have passed the 6G MIG welding test.
-
Work towards passing the 1G TIG weld test.
-
Demonstrate advanced fit-up ability, as assessed by the supervisor or QC.

Welds must be visually acceptable, with minimal grinding or buffing required.

Technical Knowledge:
-
Advanced understanding of welding machine settings and their match to the Welding Procedure Specification (WPS).

Ability to understand and interpret shop book drawings at an advanced level.
-
Intermediate understanding of mathematics related to welding assignments.
-
Proficient in using and reading levels, tape measures, and other measurement devices accurately.

Education & Experience:
-
Completion of at least 1 year of formal apprenticeship/training program or 2-year welding program from an accredited entity (can substitute 2 years of related experience for 1 year of formal education).

At least 4 years of experience in welding, with no more than 1 year absence from welding activities.

Physical Requirements:

Must have manual dexterity and stability for precision work.

Must be able to see details at close range.

Ability to lift at least 15 pounds.

Must be able to navigate the facility and machinery, including climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
