

Lineman Trainees are responsible for the construction, maintenance, and installation of high-voltage transmission, catenary, and signal transmission systems. This role includes heavy physical labor and opportunities to advance through structured training.
Essential Duties
-
Install and relocate power lines, signal transmission systems, poles, and appurtenances.

Shift poles and install new foundations or anchors.

Perform splicing and attachment of components.

Operate under traffic and challenging field conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Minimum 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
-
At least 2 years of heavy physical labor experience.

Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
-
Valid driver's license at the time of hire.
-
CDL license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Ability to perform basic math (fractions and decimals).
-
Must pass all required safety and departmental training within a 24-month period.

Fluent in English (spoken and written); able to communicate via phone and radio.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in climbing, rigging, or line work.

Mechanical aptitude and hand tool proficiency.
-
Electrical/electronic education or experience.
-
Railroad or electric traction experience.
-
Existing CDL license.
Required Training

2 weeks of safety training.

Additional departmental training over 24 months to become a qualified lineman.

Will work in physically demanding and outdoor environments.
