

The Lineman is responsible for performing skilled electrical line work involved in the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical transmission and distribution systems. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and reliability of the electrical infrastructure. Work is performed under direct supervision, and may include working on energized circuits from low to high voltage.
Primary Function:
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of skilled line and power work associated with the installation, repair, and maintenance of overhead and underground power lines. This includes working on energized circuits of varying voltage levels to ensure continuous and safe electrical service to customers.

Utility poles, crossarms, and guy wires

Conduits, anchors, and grounding equipment
Key Responsibilities:
-
Construct, maintain, and repair overhead and underground power lines
-
Climb poles and use aerial lifts to work at heights on power lines and equipment

Install, connect, and disconnect transformers, insulators, switches, and other line components
-
Work on energized lines using appropriate safety tools and procedures
-
Troubleshoot and repair power outages and electrical faults
-
Ensure proper grounding of lines and equipment
-
Read and interpret work orders, schematics, and blueprints
-
Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all OSHA and company safety regulations

Complete required reports, documentation, and logs
-
Operate and maintain utility trucks and equipment used in line work
-
Perform standby and emergency response duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Supplemental coursework in electricity and mathematics preferred
-
At least one (1) year of experience in electrical construction preferred
Licensing & Certification Requirements:

Must possess a valid Class "A" Driver’s License issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles

Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
