

M&M is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Apprentice Linemen. This role is vital to supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power systems. Apprentice Linemen work under close supervision while learning industry standards, safety protocols, and technical skills necessary to advance within the company. This is a physically demanding and rewarding opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and are committed to developing a long-term career in the utility industry.
Primary Function:
The primary role of the Apprentice Lineman is to assist experienced linemen in constructing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground power lines. Apprentices are expected to actively participate in training, follow safety procedures, and perform physical labor in varying weather conditions while working toward full qualification as a journeyman lineman.
Tools and Equipment Used:

Climbing gear (hooks, belts, harnesses)

Hand tools (pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.)

Power tools and hydraulic equipment

Bucket trucks and digger derricks

Safety gear including PPE, hard hats, and gloves

Voltage testers and other diagnostic tools
Materials Handled:

Electrical wires and cables

Utility poles and cross arms

Transformers and insulators

Fasteners, bolts, and brackets

Conduits and underground enclosures
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution and transmission lines

Climb poles and operate equipment at elevated heights in a safe and effective manner

Follow all safety regulations and demonstrate a commitment to a drug-free workplace
-
Participate in classroom labs and field training as part of the apprenticeship program

Demonstrate a willingness to learn from experienced linemen and supervisors
-
Travel as required to job sites throughout the region

Maintain physical readiness for demanding labor in all weather conditions
-
Obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

Meet all training milestones and pass required tests to advance in the program
