

Sumter Utilities, Inc. (a Quanta Services company) is seeking experienced A Linemen to join our Overhead Crew. The successful candidate will have experience as part of a construction crew and hold a valid Class A CDL. Primary Function:
The A Lineman will be responsible for performing overhead electrical line work, including climbing, rigging, and lifting. The role involves leading a crew in various construction activities such as line installation, maintenance, and repair while adhering to strict safety protocols. The A Lineman will work with energized lines, identify primary and secondary voltages, and ensure proper grounding and PPE usage.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform physical tasks such as climbing, rigging, lifting, and rescue operations.

Install, maintain, and repair energized and de-energized power lines.

Read and understand blueprints and job prints to plan and execute work.

Lead crew in assembly and erection of structures, including working at heights.

Conduct hot line work and sagging operations for electrical conductors.

Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other relevant machinery.

Lead safety meetings, including Job Task Safety Analysis and tailgate briefings.

Ensure the proper use of mechanical jumpers, grounding procedures, and PPE.

Perform basic bucket rescue/escape procedures.

Collaborate with team members and customers in a professional and positive manner.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including flag and tag procedures.

Qualifications:

Must possess a valid Class A CDL.

Proven experience working as part of a construction crew, with a focus on overhead line work.
