

The Electrician Helper assists skilled electricians by performing supportive duties under immediate supervision. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in the electrical trade through hands-on experience and exposure to various electrical systems. The level of responsibility will increase with experience and demonstrated competency.
Primary Function:
Support skilled electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. Learn the fundamentals of interpreting electrical drawings and plans, handling electrical tools, and performing basic electrical tasks safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
-
Assist with reading and interpreting electrical drawings, sketches, and plans.

Support electricians in measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing electrical conduit.

Help install control and distribution apparatus and perform wiring terminations.

Assist in testing and startup procedures to ensure circuit continuity and component safety.

Observe and report equipment operation, identifying potential hazards or adjustments needed.

Pull wire through conduit and connect wiring to fixtures and power equipment.

Work with both high and low voltage systems under supervision.

Learn to operate a variety of electrical tools and equipment safely.

Comply with all safety and project rules; maintain a clean and organized work area.

Perform other duties as required by supervision.
Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
-
Field experience in a related craft discipline is a plus.

Knowledge of safe and efficient use of hand and power tools.

Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
-
Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
Physical Requirements:
-
Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl on a regular basis.

Work in varying outdoor weather conditions.
-
Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends, overtime, and holidays.

Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds, and mechanical platforms (may exceed 200 feet).

Work in confined spaces and cluttered environments.
-
Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
-
Must have required tools and, if applicable, a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Additional Requirements:

Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol screening and fit-for-duty medical exam.
